TRAUMA-INFORMED YOGA

My trauma-informed yoga sessions offer hatha-inspired, gentle movement at a pace that feels safe and invitational. The sessions are slower-paced, neurodivergence-affirming, and welcoming to all body shapes, backgrounds, ages and genders.

You are always invited to choose what feels right for your body, reclaiming agency and presence rather than pushing toward a shape.

I will feel honoured to support you in finding your own path to restore the body-mind connection.

What makes a yoga session trauma-informed?

Trauma-informed yoga is less about a particular style of yoga and more about how the session is facilitated.
I aim to create a predictable, inclusive environment that supports choice, agency and a sense of safety.

This means:

  • Movements are offered as invitations rather than instructions

  • You can adapt a practice, pause, rest or opt out at any time

  • Your boundaries are respected, I do not use hands-on adjustments

  • You are encouraged to notice what feels supportive for your body, rather than trying to achieve a particular shape

  • Connecting with the body or breath is always optional - sometimes focusing outward or simply resting may feel more supportive!

  • And, of course, you do not need to disclose a history of trauma to take part

You remain the expert on your own body throughout.

My yoga story
I’ve been practising yoga for over eighteen years, and have trained as teacher in Trauma Informed Yoga and Somatics (200hrs).

I deepened my yoga teacher skills by training in Chair Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Yoga Nidra and Understanding Neurodiversity for Yoga Teachers with Barefoot Body Training Yoga & Somatics, and Yoga Therapy for Menopause with The Minded Institute.

I’ve also studied with Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TCTSY), completing their foundational training in trauma sensitive yoga, an intervention specifically designed for Complex Trauma/Complex PTSD and trauma related dissociation.

I love to learn and bring new knowledge into my yoga sessions!
